How the Points System Works
Cape Town/Bok Radio Treasure Hunt
In the Cape Town/Bok Radio Treasure Hunt, it’s not just about being the first to find the treasure – it’s also about earning points along the way!
This system gives every participant the chance to shine, rack up bragging rights, and stand a chance to win other exciting rewards.
It’s designed to reward those who give it their all throughout the 16-week challenge – those who listen to Bok Radio closely, who chase every clue, collect cards, and go the extra mile.
To be eligible to claim the grand treasure chest prize, a participant (or team) must earn a minimum of 400 points.
Here’s how the points system works:

1. Collect Tourism Cards – 10 Points Each
Listen to Bok Radio, solve the weekly riddles, and unlock the official Tourism Cards online.
Each card you collect earns you 10 points.
• Total available: 16 cards
• Maximum points: 160

2. Collect Shipwreck Cards – 15 Points Each
Crack the riddle inside each Tourism Card to unlock a matching Shipwreck Card online.
Every correct answer earns you a Shipwreck Card worth 15 points.
• Total available: 16 cards
• Maximum points: 240

3. Old Cape Town Stories – Location Photo Challenges
Visit any of the real-life story locations from the “Very Old Cape Town Stories” files and take a photo there to earn points.
Photo rules:
• The location must be clearly visible in the background
• Someone in the photo must hold a sign displaying your Hunter’s ID Number
• Total locations: 16
• Points per photo: 5
• Maximum points: 80

4. Sponsor Location Photo Challenges – 5 Points Each
Support our amazing sponsors! Visit any official Sponsor Location (as announced on Bok Radio) and take a photo to earn points.
Photo rules:
• The sponsor’s location or branding must be clearly visible
• Someone in the photo must hold a sign showing your Hunter’s ID Number
• Total sponsor locations: 16
• Points per photo: 5
• Maximum points: 80
